What an event! Transworld 2024 will no doubt go down as one of the biggest shows in its history. There was SO much going on that we still don’t know how Badger and Jonna the Old Crone managed to spend all 4 days running up and down the aisles, interviewing vendors, and giving away our Box of Mystery to one lucky winner. (BTW: Congratulations to Tara from R Acres of Terror haunted attraction in Illinois for being our Box of Mystery winner.) There’s SO much material that we have, we can only bring you Part 1 of all our Transworld coverage. More coming on the next show.

It’s the first full weekend of October, and the haunt season is getting into full swing. There’s a LOT of haunts opening up and ready to scare the pants and bodily fluids out of their patrons this weekend. The members of the Big Scary Show are just so excited to get out there and start visiting local and national haunts. But even though many haunts are opening up this weekend, many have been open for weeks, so get out there and support ALL the haunts.

Storm is ranting about burning haunts and spider doughnuts in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim discusses forerunners of the guillotine in Between the Corpses. Badger reads the latest in Deadline news, and the Old Crone talks about how young is too young to go through a haunt. The Haunt-Strumetallist Jerry Vayne returns to the show with a 2-part report from The Ritual Haunted Attraction in Englewood, Colorado, and Vysther is back with Part 2 of his retrospective of 20 years as a home haunter. We do have a Gruesome Giveaway for October, and we’re spinning you some spooky tunes to celebrate haunt season.

The Roundtable of Terror discusses haunted houses that are unfortunately shutting down and closing its doors after this season. We invite haunt owners from Illinois, Arkansas, and North Carolina to talk about why they’re closing, what they plan to do next, and if they’re going to stay connected to the industry. The Big Scary Show Episode 291 will continue to keep you informed and entertained as you continue to work on those haunts. After all, the season starts in about 3 months. Badger attended Frankencon in Knoxville, TN  last week and brings us some cool interviews from haunt owners, movie directors, con owners, and maybe even a Ghostbuster. Halloween is almost here and the (g)hosts are so excited that they’re pulling out all the stops and making Episode 274 our 2022 Halloween Spooktacular! We’re bringing you plenty of spooky, music, news, interviews, and so much more as we celebrate the greatest of holidays.

Storm is ranting about trick or treat bags in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim brings you a special Halloween themed Between the Corpses. Badger reads the latest in Deadline news, plus he went to Tiny Terror Con in Hickory NC and brings you interviews with some modern horror icons including the first Jason, the lost Leatherface, and Pepper. As a bonus, he talks with Jen from the Legendary Haunt Tour and discusses how you can close out the haunt season by visiting some really cool haunts in Nashville, TN. The Old Crone is back and reads us a special ghost story just in time for Halloween. In addition, we just might have a winner of the Gruesome Giveaway for the month of October. Who won? Stay tuned. Here it is, the middle of August. Haunt season is just around corner, in spite of the global situation.  Now is the time to start the audition and training process for a lot of haunts. The Roundtable of Terror offers up a trio of electric chairs to Japes Palles, Andy Arrasmith and Matt Clayton, as we discuss the training process, how it will possibly differ this year, and due to social distancing, the need for veteran actors to carry the season.
